Athletes, Knights, Columbiettes and volunteers had a blast Sunday morning, August 13th, 2023 at Special Olympics Bowling at Sparez in Davie, Florida. Approximately 11 Knights and 6 Columbiettes, a few spouses and others from St Bonaventure Church attended. Special thanks to WGK Lawrence, WDD John P., JC, Tom F., Mario R., Tom T., Anthony M., Frederick F., Tim O., Carl N., and FS Gary B. for their help with this fine organization!
Special Olympics relies on the support of volunteers to run successful competitions for our athletes. Volunteers are needed to help setup registration, score keeping, escorting athletes, awards and more.
A quick story about the Knights and the Special Olympics. Eunice Shriver, the sister of President JFK started the Special Olympics. When she started she knew she needed help. Her husband, Robert Shriver, a Knight, said I know just the guys. So the Knights of Columbus have always been a part of Special Olympics!!
